Hi, I’m Big Slim of “Big Slim & The Blues Invaders”. I was born John Edward Anderson on December 23, 1954, in Muncie, Indiana. I started playing music at 9 years old. I played most of the brass instruments. At the age of 16, I played the trumpet in my first professional band. I switch to bass when I was 22. I have been in many bands over the years and played many styles of music. I’ve always been able to sing and begin to take it seriously in 1997. Since moving to San Diego I’ve been able to play with many good musicians and bands. I also, front a couple other bands in San Diego.

My band, “Big Slim & The Blues Invaders” was founded in the summer of 2000; the band has undergone change from a blues-rock band, to an r&b, blues, dance and original music band.

We play clubs, party and other social functions. The band has had many of San Diego artistsperform with the band since 2001. The band performs as a 4-piece and up to an 8-piece band.

I have been working on original material to put on the CD since 1999. It has taken awhile to record this CD, but I hope this has been worth the wait. I wish that everyone that listens to my CD will find a song they like and can relate to.
